      Home Health Services
Home Health provides nursing and supportive services to persons in their homes. Visits are made under the direction of the patient's physician. Weekend and after hour visits are made if the patient's condition warrants.

Obtaining Services
Referrals to Home Care can be made by the individual, friends, family or health care providers by calling Nemaha County Home Care. All referrals will be evaluated for admission to the program.

Services Provided
Skilled Nursing
Registered Nurses can:
•Give therapeutic treatments such as assessments, injections, catheter care, wound care, IV therapy and many other skilled services
•Help you to learn about your illness, medicines, diet and treatments.
•Assist you in finding other needed health care resources.
•A telemonitor may be placed in the home, if warranted, to help monitor a patient's condition. A patient is able to check their vital signs, oxygen level, blood glucose and answer questions daily to help monitor their condition more closely. The results are assessed 7 days/week by a nurse.

Physical Therapy
A Licensed Physical Therapist can:
•Evaluate your physical abilities.
•Develop and implement a plan to assist you in regaining function following an illness or surgery to improve your endurance in daily activities.

Occupational Therapy
A Licensed Physical Therapist can:
•Evaluate your functional abilities for safe independence and develop a plan to increase your abilities through education in new ways or providing equipment to assist you in performing the daily activities that are important to your life. The therapist will tailor the plan to your needs and goals.

Speech Therapy
•A licensed Speech Pathologist can evaluate speech, voice production, and swallowing needs and develop a plan of care.

Home Health Aides
Trained and Supervised Aides Can :
•Give personal care assistance with bathing, hair, and nail care.
•Assist with other needs as determined by you, the nurse and the doctor.

Wound Ostomy and Continence Care
A wound, ostomy and continence nurse, WOCN, provides specialized care for patients with wounds of any etiology; ostomy care and education; and treatment of bowel and bladder incontinence.
