Nemaha County Home Care was recently named as one of the top 100 home health agencies in the nation

Nemaha County Hospital became the first state-designated Basic Level Trauma Center in the 22-county region of southeast Nebraska on May 1, 2006.On June 12th, Nemaha County’s rescue squads, the hospital’s trauma care providers and Trauma Committee hosted a celebration of this accomplishment.  The morning coffee and open house included tours of trauma care areas and a close up look at the Star Care V helicopter from Bryan LGH Hospital.

The road to attaining the designation was lengthy, but its importance cannot be underestimated.  “This has brought about the greatest direct impact to the care of our patients than anything else I have ever seen in the healthcare industry,” said Kermit Moore, NCH’s Chief Nursing Officer and Trauma Coordinator.  The designation process has brought together the pre-hospital care providers (rescue squads) and various departments within the hospital to work together to improve patient care in trauma cases.  The rural trauma link is critical to positive patient outcomes.

NCH’s willingness to forge the way in obtaining trauma designation in this portion of the state is just one way that Nemaha County Hospital is showing area citizens that their needs as patients truly does come first!
